Data Privacy Day CLE & Mixer – Privacy & Cybersecurity Litigation Year in Review

Thank you to everyone who joined us in kicking off the new year with an early celebration of Data Privacy Day at our annual Year in Review. This program highlighted recent California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) cases and litigation risks that shaped cybersecurity and privacy law in 2022 with speaker, Ian Ballon. Thank you to Greenberg Traurig and Wallbrook for sponsoring this event, and to the LACBA Litigation and Business Law sections for co-hosting.

Congratulations to former Section Chair and current Executive Committee Member, Andrew Lachman, who recently joined Mirantis as General Counsel.  Andrew is a founding member of the LACBA Privacy and Cybersecurity Section and has over 20 years of experience providing legal services to technology companies. 

MCLE Compliance Report Due February 1, 2023 (Last Name N-Z)

Current active California-licensed attorneys are required to complete 25 hours of MCLE every three years.  Attorneys with last names beginning with N-Z must report their minimum continuing legal education compliance to The State Bar of California by February 1, 2023.

About the Privacy and Cybersecurity Section
Founded in 2019, the Privacy and Cybersecurity Section is one of LACBA’s newest sections and was established to bring together a community of individuals interested in advancing data privacy and security for the Southern California legal community and beyond. Our members include attorneys from some of the largest firms in Los Angeles, solo practitioners, representatives from the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, in-house counsel, academics, and consulting firms.
